I have 3 sons and a daughter all of whom knew and loved Lewis. In 1992, a great friend, Mike Huggett called me from Zimbabwe asking me to look out for the Zimbabwean Golf Team who were participating in the Eisenhower Cup, played at Capilano Golf Club and
Marine Drive Golf Club in Vancouver. When the Team arrived, Lewis who was just 17 and I became instant friends. A friendship that allowed me to share many
times with Lewis as he would spend the summers with us while at the University of Virginia.

I attended Lewis’s graduation at the University of Virginia in 1998. When Lewis earned his Tour Players card on the Buy.Com Tour, I was there along with his caddy and longtime college friend, Jeremy Julie. Tragically, while playing on the Canadian Tour in Edmonton at the TELUS Edmonton Open in 2001, Lewis succumbed to a rare form of meningitis. I had the emotionally difficult yet reverential task of dispatching him home to Zimbabwe to be buried by his family.
